The Blueskin Playcentre recently catered an event for the Blueskin Resilient Communities Trust at the Dunedin Library; a $1400 profit was made. We could not have done this without the support of our friends and families who helped us by supplying produce from their own gardens and kitchens. A big effort was made to supply the event with local food, including roasted lamb and vegetables, fresh green salads, tabouli, gluten and dairy-free cakes and biscuits. We were asked if we were a professional catering business!
A big thank you to Taste Nature, Evansdale Cheese, The Veggie Boys, Waitati General Store, Waitati School, Volco Farm Group, Beatrice, Scott, Ishtar, Patricia, Naomi, Lisa Taylor, Marissa, Sabina, Sue Blyth, Cheryl and all the families at playcentre.
Use of funds
We plan on spending the money to pay our electricity bill, a new shed for our sand-pit toys/outdoor equipment, some new chairs for the children to sit on for kai, and some other general supplies for our messy, colourful, wet, fun play that we do every day at playcentre. We are truly touched by the support we have from our community. Please come and join us for a cuppa tea or coffee any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 9:15 am – 12:15 pm.
