POSTAL SERVICES AROUND THE COAST
Well, the vote is in and the popular verdict is clear; "the status quo
is fine, leave well alone".
A few weeks ago I wrote and asked those on the coast who have their mail
delivered to a central post box (Warrington) or to the store (Karitane)
whether that system suited, or whether they would prefer house to house
delivery. The issue had been raised with me by a coastal constituent.
People rang, visited, wrote and emailed. About 10% wanted to change and
about 90% didn't. I'm sure that it wasn't a 'scientific' survey, but it
was overwhelming nonetheless.
Thanks folks, for such a clear direction. The reasons for the status
quo were many, varied and delightful. I'm very pleased that the result
wasn't an awkward 50:50!
