Blueskin Bay radio news for Friday May 22

Puketapu Radio presents Blueskin Bay local news in association with blueskin.co.nz

Despite the weather, a core group of hardy souls turned out last night to hear Green list MP Kevin Hague discuss the party’s Green New Deal initiative. This looks at how to solve the crises of economic recession, climate change and environmental collapse. The meeting was hosted by the Blueskin Bay branch of the Green Party.

Blueskin Play Centre’s annual jumble sale will be held at Waitati Hall on Sunday and there are lots of great bargains to be had. The sale starts at 11am.

Waitati Film Society’s offering this Tuesday is the 1985 American movie Mala Noche. Movies are shown at Bill’s Place, Orokanui Rd from 8pm.

The Blueskin Youth Centre Administration committee is holding a meeting on Monday at 7.30 at the Waitati Hall. Submissions will be made to the committee that focus on building a sustainable and dynamic future for our youth, our environment and our communities. The meeting is open to the public.

Another creative memories workshop will be held on Thursday. The venue is the Warrington Hall and the evening runs from 7pm to 9.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
