WARRINGTON INDOOR BOWLS (column)

WARRINGTON INDOOR BOWLS

by Stephne Bennett

Indoor bowls opened on Tuesday 31 March at Warrington Hall. We welcome
new members and currently have no nightly fee. It is a fun sport held
indoors by the heaters in winter and enables one to challenge oneself
while participating in a team. So feel free to come any Tuesday night
at 7.30 for a look and perhaps a game and see if you enjoy it. We are
a very friendly bunch of people.

Eastern Districts open night was held on Friday 17th April and so the
season is under way.  Interclub starts 23rd April with the first
round.

Warrington is holding its Tournament at Waitati Hall on 2 May.  This
is open to registered and non-registered players. It is under a
'fours' format and promises to be a great day for all concerned with
good prizes, raffles, food and drink.

Andrew Thompson and Stephne Bennett gained selection to the Otago Team
with their first game held in Balclutha on 26 April. They follow in
the illustrious footsteps of our current member and past Otago Rep
Cliff Porteous.

Remember don't sit and look at four walls on a Tuesday night - Come
and play bowls. Contact Stephne Bennett ph 4822 585 for more details.
