Blueskin Bay news for Friday April 17

Blueskin Bay radio news for Friday April 17

Puketapu Radio presents Blueskin Bay local news in association with blueskin.co.nz

With the school holidays now well underway, you may be looking for activities to keep the youngsters entertained. Look no further than Bluekskin Bay where kite making has been underway all week at the Waitati Hall. Next week the children move on to puppet making, and this too will be held at Waitati Hall each afternoon through to next Friday. Start time is 2pm. Everyone is welcome.

The final Waitati Edible Gardens Harvest Market of the season will be held on Sunday morning. This event showcases local products – plants, preserves and produce, all made or grown in the wider Blueskin Bay area. The market starts at 10.30 and is held on the front porch of the old Waitati store in Harvey Street. Sellers and buyers both welcome.

Next Thursday, the results of the recent Waitati Household Energy Use Survey will be announced and debated. From 7.30, researchers from the Otago Energy Research Centre will explain the findings, which promises to be an entertaining and interactive evening. The survey feedback evening will be held in the Waitati Hall with refreshments at its conclusion.

Do you happen to have a spare couch? The Waitati Energy Project is in the process of setting up an office in the front of the old Waitati store. While many items to furnish the office have already been found, the WEP is still in need of a comfortable couch. If you can help, Scott Willis would like to hear from you. He can be reached at 482 2249.
