There will be a meeting on Tuesday 24 March to discuss the setting up
of Neighbourhood Support groups in the Waikouaiti Coast Community
Board area. The Neighbourhood Support concept is a more inclusive
successor to Neighbourhood Watch.
The initial idea involves a group covering central Waitati (including
the Library) but hopefully people outside of these streets will be
interested in setting up their own groups.
To learn more and become involved, come to the Waitati Hall on Tuesday
24 March at 6pm for a shared meal followed by a meeting with
Neighbourhood Support Regional Coordinator, Sarah Hexamer, and local
agencies such as the Fire Service and Age Concern. The meeting is
expected to end about 9pm.
For more information ring Louise at the Blueskin Bay Library on 482 2444.
