Blueskin News February 6

Blueskin Bay radio news for Friday February 6

Puketapu Radio presents Blueskin Bay local news in association with blueskin.co.nz

Despite it being a long weekend, there is a great deal of activity happening around Blueskin Bay in the next few days.

A Cob Earth Building workshop will be held on Saturday from 9am to 5pm at Harmony Farm in Waitati Valley. Other courses are also being offered and include forest gardening and permaculture, herbal medicine, native forest guardianship and monitoring, sustainable building and energy systems, and organic trail making.

The toy library will also be open at the Waitati Hall on Saturday from 10.30 until 11.30 am. It’s a great chance to exchange the toys your children have tired of, and stock up on some new ones to keep them entertained for the next couple of weeks. The toy library will be open again on Monday evening between 6.30 and 7.30pm.

Also on Saturday is Art in the Arvo, a community-based arts and performance programme for children. On offer are such kids’ activities as music, drawing, puppet making, treasure hunting and movie making. This will be held at the Bland Park Pavilion in Waitati from 2pm till 3.30pm.

Sunday sees the Long Beach Neighbourhood Garage Sale from 9am to midday. "Trash and Treasure" is the theme, and some items will even be free. It is organised by the Long Beach Amenities Society.
