Blueskin Bay radio news for Friday February 27

Puketapu Radio presents Blueskin Bay local news in association with blueskin.co.nz

Gallery on Blueskin has an exhibition opening tonight from 6pm. The solo show “Painting on Blueskin” features new and exciting work by Nigel Wilson. Many pieces feature Blueskin Bay. Plus, on Sunday, local potter, Peter Gregory will give pottery demonstrations and tuition.

Also on Sunday, the Coast Road Market will be held at Seacliff. In recent months this market has developed a good following and there are now large numbers of stall holders with a wide variety of new and used goods, plants and food for sale. The market is held between 11am and 2pm on the main road at Seacliff. To find it, follow the signs.

This weekend, surf lifesaving championships will be held at Warrington. On Saturday the seniors will compete, and on Sunday, the juniors and rescue boats.

Still at Warrington, and Taekwondo is back for the year on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6pm until 7.30pm. You can attend for the first month free. This is held in Warrington Hall.

On Tuesday, the Blueskin Bay Book Club meets at the Blueskin Bay Café from 10am.  New members are welcome.

There’s more culture the same evening from 8pm at Bill’s Place in Orokonui Rd when the Waitati Film Society will view the movie Brick.

On Thursday, the Retrofit public meeting will be held in the Waitati Hall from 7.30pm. Anyone interested in having their homes made warm and dry should be there to hear how they can achieve this for just 20% of the usual cost. This initiative is courtesy of the Waitati Energy Project.
