Even though it rained for the first three weeks of term we have had
plenty of space to exert ourselves. Our Olympic Games didn't need to
be postponed as we were able to hold it inside. The children created
their own flags and medals to be given out ceremoniously after sack
races, beam walking and much more.

Our focus this term for group play has been to extend the children's
interest in fantasy play and communication through text in the written
and story form. Some of our children visited the Fortune Theatre in
the holidays to see 'The Princess and the Pea', this has stimulated
their fantasy play, often setting the theme of Kings and Queens,
Princes and Princesses with a wedding.

The children have been bringing their favourite stories and
identifying familiar text as well as retelling the story. Our four
year olds have been practicing their hand writing and making their own

We have been very happy to welcome some new families recently, all
with children under two years old.

Our centre provides for children 0-5 years and we would love to have
more families join us.

If you'd like to find out more please come and visit us on Orokonui
Rd, Waitati (follow the sign off Harvey St) Monday, Wednesday or
Thursday 9.30 - 12.30. Our centre phone number is 027 427 1727. Or
call Mandy outside these hours on 482 2752.
