Rowan Carlyle

It is with great sadness that club members present and past have
farwelled a much loved young man, friend and club mate. Rowan recently
lost his battle and will be greatly missed. Rowan was a member of our
club as a junior and came through the ranks as a lifeguard ,
competitor and medallist at NZ level in canoe. Our deepest and sincere
sympathy go to Lyne and Gilbert, Natalie, Sharlene and families.
Thankyou for sharing Rowan with us and for alll the good times we had
as clubbies together.

A year has now past since Rowan passed away.
It was with sadness and sorrow we joined together to celebrate Rowans memorial yesterday at the Warrington Surf Club.
Many fond memories of a great man were shared and reminisced.
We saw Rowan (Milky), off in the best way we knew how. His ashes were spread out the back at his beloved Warrington Beach, sprinkled from the very canoes he loved so much and spent so many hours paddling around. A very moving and emotional time for all. Many tears shed.
Milk you'll always be missed, your wit, your hay fever nose itch, the way you always seemed so relaxed. Buddy, "little buddy" every time i see the early photos of us makes me think of the good times.
Our thoughts go out to Kelly,Lyne, Gilbert, Natalie, Sharlene and families at this time.
Rest in peace Big R.
