coming summer season. Swimming lessons continue every Thursday night.
Ownership of Becoming a Lifeguard is now each individual club's
responsibility and training for this will commence shortly. If anyone
is interested in becoming a lifeguard or a patrol support person this
season or wish to know more about what this involves please ring Lyn
4822896 or Kaye 4822494. You will need to be 14 years or over, able to
give some of your spare weekend time for this worthwhile community
service and keen to join our very friendly group. Patrol Support does
not involve any swimming which may suit some people.
On Friday 29 June we are having a Pot Luck Tea at our club rooms at
6.30pm. This is for all current families and anyone who may like to
come and join us. We hope to see lots of you there for a good old get
together of young and old. Wrap up warmly and help to celebrate mid
It is with great sadness that club members present and past have
farwelled a much loved young man, friend and club mate. Rowan recently
lost his battle and will be greatly missed. Rowan was a member of our
club as a junior and came through the ranks as a lifeguard,
competitor and medallist at NZ level in canoe. Our deepest and sincere
sympathy go to Lyne and Gilbert, Natalie, Sharlene and families.
Thankyou for sharing Rowan with us and for alll the good times we had
as clubbies together.
