"Doctors' Points" column: Influenza vaccines

This year's influenza vaccines have arrived. The peak incidence for
flu in New Zealand is May-October, so now is the best time to be
vaccinated. The vaccine is recommended (and free) for all our enrolled
patients who are over 65 or who have a chronic medical condition. For
all others there is a $20 charge.

Some people may feel mildly unwell or have some discomfort at the
injection site for 1-2 days afterwards but the vaccine cannot give you
the flu. Please phone 465 7599 or 465 1455 for an appointment.
Remember that the Monday afternoon clinic at Warrington is also now by
appointment.
