Blueskin Playcentre (Waitati) News

Kia ora Tatou, greetings to every one

We are enjoying the nice weather at Playcentre. There has been plenty
of water play with some interesting cooking experiments that go with
that. The sand pit is also seeing lots of action. It's nice to be
able to have sessions with all the doors open to outdoors. Hopefully
this can continue for a bit longer.

There has been some sorting in the Playcentre garden. The children
worked hard with Michelle to get our garden ready for new plants.
Once the garden patch was cleared we planned a trip to the Blueskin
Nursery. The children enjoyed picking out vegetables and we were
gifted some beautiful flowers by the nursery. The centre now has some
great colours throughout the playground. We also had a nice shared
tea at the Café. Thank you all for a great visit.

The centre picked another sunny day for a walk to the tallest tree.
The children worked hard to step through the tall grass. We all
stopped for a nice picnic on the path. We didn't manage to reach the
tree (too far) but fun was had by all. It was a special walk and we
were able to hear the river next to the path. We are hoping to get
out to the beach while the weather is still nice.

Some of the mums with babies managed a nice walk together during a
Thursday session. The older children were dropped off at Playcentre
and they were off for a walk around Waitati. We are hoping to
continue this when possible. Anyone interested can join us. You can
give the centre a call to find out if there is a walk planned.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tat and Albert! They are going to be big 5 year olds
and will both be at Waitati School by the end of March. We will miss
you both at Playcentre. We look forward to your visits back to
Playcentre with your new class.

Playcentre is a wonderful place to gain new friends and retouch with
old ones. Parents are supported with their child's learning and can
develop their involvement through Playcentre training. Feel free to
stop by for a cup of tea and see what we are all about.

We're open on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings, 9:30 – 12:00
noon. We cater for children aged from birth right up to 6 years of
age, their parents and caregivers. Come and get to know other parents
with young children in the community. For information you can give
our co-presidents a call: Mandy, 482 2752 or Tracey, 482 1406. Our
Centre ph 027 427 1727, during session times.
